UNIFORM:
Usually Number 3 dress Operational Dress Uniform. (Occasionally No. 4)
RESCUE TECH is graded at three levels but one badge is worn. Level I, II, III
THIS IS RECOGNITION OF A QUALIFICATION.
This is reviewed every YEAR (It used to be every 2 years - but then it is also currently being awarded qy=uarterly when it was previously annually.)
PRE-REQUISITE: EnhancedFitness Test.
DESIRABLE: One of these subjects should be Rope / Abseil.
ESSENTIAL:Specialist Tech. Rescue Certification Training at appropriate level from recognised providers
RESCUE: 2 Subjects at Operator (L2) (i.e., Rope, Water) or 1+ at Technician.
MEDICAL:First Aid and CPR - preferably in austere environments and preferably HCP BLS (Canada)
NOTES:
First Level of the RESCUE UNIT
- · Can resolve SAR Emergencies aspart of a team
- · ALL Rescue Techs exercise regularly
- · Complete the STC L3 (Specialist Training Course) more than once
- · Can bull their boots to a high shine,
- · Specialist Rescue and Tech.Rescue are used interchangeably in this context.
- · Uniform and Kit checked
- · Possess some of their own kit
· Takes an active involvement in Personal development and has 'usable' Rescue Skills.
· Can wear Last Resort Belt inUniform
CERTIFICATE: ERT SAR Awards a Certificate for attaining this position
